Stay True
WOO HA.
Thanks to all the folks that stopped by the NYC mobile shop recently. We’re getting ready to drop the Spring 2012 collection soon so stay tuned to the site. This collection is a really dope one, probably some of our best work to date and I know you folks will like it a lot. In the meantime, check out a couple of pictures from a day hanging out at the mobile.
The homie/creative/graphic designer extraordinaire/Toy Street partner/artist/all around cool guy – Sean G stopped by to chop it up for a bit.
Couple of customers drop by to support. Thank you.
We know plenty of folks want stuff and we’re pretty much sold out on majority of our stock at the moment but hold on tight, new stuff will be dropping soon and trust, they will go fast so don’t sleep!

BASQUIAT DOLLAR.
For our Summer 2011 collection titled “Popular is Popular”, we released the Basquiat Dollar tee as part of the drop. The reception was incredible and we quickly sold out on these. Probably one of the best designs we’ve ever released in my opinion. While we don’t tend to show the beginning stages for our designs, I’m so drawn to this particular design that I wanted to share the artwork we created and started with before the final version you see on the tee. The idea was to create something we can relate to based on Robert Dowd‘s iconic Van Gogh dollar. It was a no brainer for us to do it based on Basquiat. His work and what he represented as well as where he was from all spoke to us the most. We started with the below but then worked it to the final version you see on the tee. Really enjoyed working on this one. We are actually contemplating releasing these as a limited run of art prints so look out for them if we do. It will look amazing on any wall.
Props to our in house designer – Jimmy P for bringing the vision to life perfectly.

FALL/HOLIDAY 2011 COLLECTION.
Just in time for Fall and the festive spirit during this period of the year, we’re happy to present the Cookies -N- Cream Fall/Holiday 2011 collection. This season, we had a loose theme surrounding the collection. The focus was more on capturing a state of mind while continuing to ensure that we release quality pieces. Each piece embodies a vibe we felt while creating the collection. The pieces are: Select Few crewnecks (Black, Gray and Burgundy), Wild Life tee (Black, Navy Blue) and the Toy Plane tee. All solid garments that you can enjoy. The pieces are now available via our online and mobile shops as well as through our new select retailers initiative.

BIZ AS USUAL.
Another day at the Cookies -N- Cream NYC mobile shop. Thanks to all the folks that stopped by. I’ve said several times and will continue to say that we have some of the best folks supporting the brand. We couldn’t ask for a better group of supporters and we’re thankful for that. Check out a few pictures of some folks that stopped by recently below as well as random shenanigans at the shop.
Jon (Who is a DJ for those who don’t know) was spinning music from his Ipad via some DJ application. Cool app, does a decent job though the song transition on the app could be a little more seamless….and can someone tell Jon to wipe the face of his Ipad?

Jon stops spinning music at the mobile shop to do a quick interview….he’s living the life huh?

LOS ANGELES MOBILE SHOP.
It’s been about a year and 3 months that we launched the very first endeavor of its kind in New York City – a permanent apparel & designer toys mobile shop. Everything has been a whirlwind of crazy fun from that point on. We have been featured on MTV, Entrepreneur magazine, countless blogs/sites and more. Personalities and people from all over the world have stopped by the NYC mobile shop. It’s been an incredible experience so far. The support has been amazing from everyone and we are thankful for that.
As the brand continues to grow, we are happy to announce the addition of a second mobile shop that will be based in Los Angeles. This will be a Los Angeles and surrounding areas based shop, and will carry all items that you can also find at the New York mobile shop. In addition to that, we will also be releasing exclusive items occasionally that you can only get from the LA or NY mobile shop. We are excited to be getting into the next chapter of the brand and look forward to connecting with all the folks on the West Coast. Follow the Los Angeles Mobile shop on twitter @TheCookiesMobLA and the New York City mobile shop @TheCookiesMob. Mobile shop artwork by our good friend, French artist/illustrator Skwak.

ANGELES LOS.
Been out in Los Angeles for the past couple of days working on this. We’re pretty excited to be expanding to LA and the official launch is pretty much around the corner. We’ve been doing test runs and I took a couple of sneak shots. Look out for official launch information soon.
While on Rosewood and Fairfax yesterday, I got a chance to pop in to the Known Gallery and check out the Seventh Letter show. Incredible work.

UP WORD.
We get a really good amount of email from people all over the world showing their support for the brand. We’re really humbled to be able to receive all this love and it’s something we truly appreciate. Since we get so much, I figured it would be good to occasionally post some of those messages here. No filtering or removing anything, but posting the message exactly as it was sent to us (so watch your spelling folks). To kick this off, here’s an email we just received:
” I believe that you guys are definitely onto something great; I am an upper middle class suburban white kid from New Jersey who loves companies like 10Deep and Acapulco Gold and Supreme and I wholeheartedly believe that if you guys get big enough you could be some sort of fixture in streetwear – maybe like the next Supreme in ten years or so? – there is just something that feels so authentic – and that is exactly what New Yorkers love, those little jewels that are only to be known by those who dwell the streets of Soho or the Village. To me, it is not if you guys will make it, it’s when, and if you guys can keep this great authenticity and passion into the realm of success and expansion – just keep the same prices… (138 dollars for a sweatshirt is a little too much or like A Bathing Ape – 100$ for a T-Shirt???) I can honestly imagine my friends at a house party rockin these clothes with a fresh snapback. ” – ChipDiBen5
Thank you for the confidence and support. To be considered “the next Supreme” is a honor because we respect what Supreme has built over the years. We look forward to us continuing to grow with the support of folks like you and no, we won’t be selling $100 t-shirts anytime soon…unless it’s a shirt that comes with Victoria Secret models. I’m sure you would agree that is worth at least $100.
Cheers.

GROWTH.
Ok, so I posted this a couple of days ago and didn’t really mention what it’s for. Some folks figured it out and some didn’t but we just figured we’d let it all out. We’re expanding to Los Angeles with another mobile shop. Since the inception of the brand, LA has always been one of the places we wanted to expand to, in our own way. Next to New York, Los Angeles has the most people that visit our site daily so it’s a natural progression for us to spread our wings there. Me and Jon traveled out there a few months ago to work out the logistics and check out how the mobile would work out there. We both absolutely agreed that it was right for us.
We’ve started working on the truck. Matter of fact, it’s about 85% done. We still have not decided on a launch date yet, but it should be within the next couple of months. We’ll definitely continue to keep you guys in the loop on what’s going on with it. Also, the LA truck will be a hybrid apparel & designer toys/Ramune soda truck. Interesting huh? Yes, it is for us as well and that just adds to the excitement. We can’t wait to touch down in Los Angeles with the C -N- C LA Mobile.
Here’s a picture of the truck before it’s transformation. Actually, this is after we put in all the windows.
The LA truck artwork being carefully added on. If you notice, the artwork itself is all comprised of LA only elements. I’ll keep things interesting and let you figure out what each element represents.
