G.I. JONES.
As we get more into releasing projects from the music arm of the brand, we’re happy to announce a new member to The Cookies Mob Collective – Jones. As most folks know, we are very particular with the things we put the brand behind. The same goes for music. We get tons of music sent and handed to us at the shop regularly, and we do listen to everything but it’s rare when someone really holds our attention after a few minutes into their tape. I happened to stumble on Jones’ music through the matrix that is the internet and was impressed by what I heard. Jones is a 21 yr old MC from Brooklyn who now splits time between Brooklyn and Tampa, FL. His flow, wordplay and wit was evident after a few listens into his mixtape. I reached out through a mutual friend, got in touch with Jones, chopped it up and here we are now.
Below is the mixtape I heard from him, which is the very first one he has put out. It’s titled – G.I Jones and is more of him making music to other artist’s beats but the potential is evident. We are now working on his second mixtape which will be all original beats and it’s going to be really dope.
