CREATE.

If you know our brand by now, one of the things that’s evident is that we love being creative. We try to play around with everything – from the designs to the packaging to how we promote our brand etc Being able to be creative and playful with the brand is sincerely one of the things that’s kept us around for this long and we intend to continue doing so. While making my internet rounds, I ran into an article at Fast Company on the 100 most creative people in business today. While I don’t agree that this is the 100 most creative, I do think these are some creative folks and creativity is always supported over here at Cookies -n- Cream. Go here and check out the article.

BIGGIE MEETS WARHOL.

Some of you folks may have seen this already so this post is mainly for those who haven’t or just for you to enjoy again if you’ve seen it already but here’s a really cool video that our very own DJ Jon Blak put together for us when we dropped this collection(which is pretty much sold out). Makes you wonder what creative expression could have happened had these two actually worked together. Much love to both legends and R.I.P.

Big props to Jon Blak for putting this nice little video together.

This is the 2nd piece from the drop of 10 KITO customs that we’ll be releasing soon…Here’s some pics of the piece. It’s kinda cool that he has on a Pugzee jersey too. Nice touch.

You can read Ojaeda’s bio on his myspace page here. Go there to also check out some of his paintings. He has this really cool and interesting Amy Winehouse painting that you have to see…and there’s another one titled Murder Burger that’s just as cool…Go there now.

Stay tuned for the next custom piece.

BASTARD STORE.

One of our readers – Simon Hogg aka S-Dog sent me the link to check out the design of this store. Being that we love innovative architectural design, it was definitely real nice of Simon to send this our way…Here’s some info about the store and a couple of pics below. This is way too cool.

ANDY MOUSE BY KEITH HARING.

If you know us, then you’ll know we’re big fans of Keith Haring. We’ve talked about him on here quite a few times and here’s something to whet your appetite from one of our past blog posts on him. His Andy Mouse painting which is a mash-up of Andy Warhol and Mickey Mouse was made into a limited edition toy and as a Keith Haring fan, you know I had to get one. In addition to me having Andy Mouse as part of my personal toy collection, we are now also carrying the item in our store. We only have a few pieces as this toy sells fast. This is a chance for you to own a piece of Haring’s legacy if you can’t afford the millions of dollars it will cost to buy one of his paintings today. Go here now and pick one up. The version available is the Green Andy Mouse. Once it’s sold out, that’s it. Move quick or I might just change my mind and keep them all to myself. Here’s some pics of the original paintings plus Keith and Warhol.

Keith Haring is a legend.

“MT. FUJI” KITO BY PESU.

We twittered about going to Pesu‘s crib a few days ago to watch him do a custom KITO piece. As I recently mentioned, we’re finishing up with KITO – our first in house designer toy piece and the first KITO set we’ll be putting out are 10 custom painted resin pieces by 10 different artists. These pieces will be one of a kind and we’ve been very selective with the artists we’ve chosen. Pesu is an amazing artist and it was a pleasure getting him involved in the project. Definitely look forward to more toy related projects between us and Pesu. Here’s some sneak pics of him painting KITO. The artwork is inspired by his hometown Mt. Fuji in Japan.

We fell in love with the piece as soon as he completed it and to be there watching it come to life was inspiring. Enjoy these sneak pics for now. More pics/info to come soon.

STAY TRUE: EMILIO ROJAS.

Here’s another individual who’s going to be featured on our Stay True project. If you’ve visited our blog before or checked out the pictures from our Spring ’09 collection, then you should know who this is. Emilio Rojas. A very talented MC who’s generated a nice buzz for himself online and offline. With the current influx of rappers in music nowadays, it’s hard to weed through the nonsense to actually get to someone with substance, but the creme of the crop will always rise to the surface and Emilio has done just that. His wordplay is top notch. The way he weaves in and out of a beat is equally impressive. Punchlines are on point and he actually makes sense when he rhymes. In today’s music climate, it’s hard to find a rapper that possesses all of the characteristics I just mentioned. We did this shoot when we shot him for our Spring ’09 lookbook a few months ago and I took a couple of pics. Enjoy and stay tuned for Emilio on Stay True. In the meantime, go get some Emilio Rojas ear candy here.
