Yes, our fall pieces are almost here and every piece is dope as hell…Sneak pics of 2 of the Cookies n Cream Luxe sweatshirts below. Yes, Fall does cometh and it’s looking preeeety sick.
Reknowned British street artist Banksy just dropped fresh pieces all over the streets of New Orleans. Considering that his art pieces sell for millions of dollars, it’s cool to see that he still does street pieces which is where it all started. All images boosted from Wooster Collective.
Told you they were coming, and they’re now here – our posters. They look really really sick!…Soon to be seen plastered at various points in NYC.
The words next to APPROACH WITH CAUTION reads “DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS CREATURE’S CUTENESS. KEEP ALL COOKIES HIDDEN IF SPOTTED. LOVES ART, MUSIC AND FASHION SO MIGHT POSSIBLY BE SPOTTED AT YOUR LOCAL ART SHOW, CONCERT OR CLOTHING BOUTIQUE. MAY TRY TO WIN YOU OVER WITH HIS COOL DEMEANOR – BE CAREFUL!”
Thanks to our good friend and talented motion graphics designer – Dorca Musseb for the hook-up. You’re the best!
Finally got a chance to pick up our copy of The Tokyo Look Book and I must say that I’m really feeling it.. The Tokyo Look Book is a book about fashion on the streets of Japan and the different styles worn by different groups of people. It’s a really interesting book that gives a lot of info about Japanese fashion and also has a lot of nice pictures..the pictures alone make this book a worthy purchase.
Took some pics from within the book for you folks to check out…
Even though the frames below are Chanel, that logo always reminds me of our brand – Cookies n Cream..
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I absolutely agree. I did a little running around yesterday taking care of some business and was able to take some pictures along the way. So here’s my day via pictures with a little commentary…
First, I ran into some dude selling these classic vinyl records of some really old skool music..and I mean old skool..
Wow..nice line-up..The O’Jays, Frank Sinatra, Lionel Richie..Even though I wasn’t alive when these people were poppin but my music library runs deep..
Then I stopped by Union Square to take care of some biz, and saw this cat selling these hand painted Obama t-shirts..Sick! Pretty cool dude too, had a nice lil conversation with him.
Walked to Broadway and Prince..stopped to talk to a street artist I met. Name is Iddi and his stuff is cool..nice creative salt shakers or collectible toy pieces..all depends on you..
Cute chick admiring the pieces..
Took care of some more biz real quick, and on my way back, saw some really dope graffiti by Mulberry and Prince street..
Poked my head in Supreme, WESC, G-Star and Brooklyn Industries real quick to see what’s new..all on the same block…
Random pic of the train station..
Stopped to talk with the homies from the Street art collective – Destroy and Rebuild. Nice Naomi joint they just did below..
More biz..then stopped to chat with Randall, who’s a pretty nice dude that wrote this fun little book called The Winner’s Guide to Dating (What I learned about Love and Sex from Texas Hold ‘Em)..and you can pick up your copy here.
hopped on the train at..
Got off to connect with another train at 42nd street, and took some quick pics of a band playing in the subway..
Headed uptown to..
to catch up with Noel – a friend of mine who sells some of the best street art I’ve ever seen..His pieces are sick! He sells a variety of stuff but I’m always blown away by his pieces from an artist named Morganti..
Nice young lady below is an artist..she did the piece in the picture above that’s on the lower left hand corner..she didn’t mind taking pics so here’s pose 1…
and pose 2…
Whew! 30 flicks deep..all in a day’s hustle and that’s not even counting the meetings I had etc. Grind mode, homey..They can’t stop this “Thing of Ours”.

Cookies n Cream radio!
House of Pain – Jump Around
“….if you got the feeling/jump up, touch the ceiling..”
If you folks can remember, I did this post a while back about a song by the Gym Class Heroes ft. The Dream called The Cookie Jar. They shot a video for the song and it’s pretty dope..ties into the concept very well and a little into our brand name as well. Enjoy.
I found this story at Pingmag and it’s about a graffiti artist named ZEVS who is popular for his street art style called Visual kidnapping. Yeah I know, you’re like “What the heck is visual kidnapping?”. To quote him directly “Visual kidnapping is like entering an interactive game: If the brand on the billboard kidnaps the attention of the public with the purpose of consumer demand, I reverse the situation and I kidnap the model on the poster and I demand a ransom of 500,000€ from the brand. This sum represents the symbolic price of an advertising campaign for the brand.” Pictures of some of his work are below and visit Pingmag for the full interview.
This crossed my mind a while back but I kept forgetting to post it here..Is it a coincidence that The Cool Kids named their new EP – The Bake Sale which ties into our whole Cookies n Cream thing or great minds just think alike? hmmmmm…as Jay-Z once said “this is food for thought, you do the dishes”
You know what time it is. Reminisce Fridays!!! We’ve got another classic as always, and in case you missed the last couple of Fridays, click here and here. We’re crushing ‘em every Friday! Keep tuning in – Cookies n Cream radio!
Lost Boyz – Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz
“….for those that claim/ to be the best, I tear ‘em out the frame..”
FYI – I tried to embed the actual video for the song but big bad Universal Records has disabled all embedding for this video on Youtube. When will these big dumb corporations realize that it’s stupid to try to stop people from sharing info/music freely. It’s a losing battle and they’re going to leave with their tails between their legs. Anyway, if you still want to see the video, here is the link – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HPt4UShqjk&feature=related
By the way, did we mention that we’re creating flyers of the below which we’ll be handing out all over NYC and it is also the inspiration for one of the tees for our FALL collection. KITO is such a cool monster.
Get ready for the cookie monsters invasion. They’re coming.
I caught this picture on my iphone at an NYC train station in Harlem – 135th street (B,C line). It’s one of Takashi Murakami’s pieces from his installation at the Brooklyn Museum, and the piece was on display as part of an ad that was on the wall of the subway stop. Pretty nice shot for an iphone or is it *ahem* because I have a great eye and amazing photography skills.
As we start to work on our own set of designer toys, I thought it would only be fitting to do a tribute post to one of our influences and legendary designer toymaker – Michael Lau. Yes, Cookies n Cream is more than just a clothing brand. We’re part clothing, part toy brand. The first set of toys will be released as part of our “The Cookies Mob” collection and they will all be very limited. We also have another collection that we’ll be doing but that is all under wraps for now. We’ll let you know as things develop. Now back to Micheal Lau.
If you don’t know who this guy is, then you need to educate yourself by going here. Michael Lau is credited with having started the whole designer toy craze. His Gardener series amongst others have some of the hardest pieces to find and cost hundreds to thousands of dollars nowadays. Just to clarify to some of you folks who may not know but designer toys are the toys that people collect like art. These are not the type of toys you will find at Toys ‘r us or some kid toy store, and usually the people (teenagers, adults) that collect these don’t even play with them even though you can if you want to. They are always made in limited pieces and usually rise in value soon as they sell out, so you actually have some people who try to make good money from buying and selling these on sites like Ebay etc. Good examples of designer toy brands are Kidrobot, Toy2R Qees and items from revered designers like Joe Ledbetter, Devilrobots, Sket One, Frank Kozik, KAWS amongst many others. Anyway, Michael has been laying it down for years and everything he touches pretty much sells out quick. He’s worked with companies like Nike and SONY, and he’s pretty much one of the reasons why there is this whole designer toy community. Check out this TIME article on him which was published in ‘02.
Other than that, all I have to say is get ready for “The Cookies Mob”.
Legendary NYC graf writer – REAS did the cover for the August issue of art & culture magazine – Juxtapoz. Fresh visuals as always. By the way, if you’re not familiar with who REAS is, then maybe you’re familiar with some of his work – He designed the characters for the show Crank Yankers and he just did that Complex spread with Lupe Fiasco. Yeah, he’s nice.
Welcome to Part 2 of our continuing series from the MOSA (Museum of Street Art). If you don’t know what the MOSA is, then click here. Other than that, enjoy.
From the Streets of NYC -
Crime partner P. Just chillin. By the way, if you have good eyes, you should notice the Cookies n Cream sticker to the left of P.
Keep checking back for more art from the MOSA, and if you missed part 1 – Check it out here.
Since this blog is about the Cookies n Cream brand, we try to focus all our posts about us, our journey and the things that interests us. But every now and then, there’s a company or brand that might be doing something cool that we like, and we have no other choice but to talk about it. That company for this post is Keep Footwear. Keep is a footwear company based out of LA. Most of their sneakers are really clean designs with a splash of colors at one location but still with a clean look. What’s so funny is that they say they create footwear for women but yet they make them with a unisex look and actually sell to guys, though some of their stuff are strictly for women (unless you’re into that kind of thing). My favorite kicks from them are The Guerras. Pics below.
